  Born Ins, How Did Your Parents Get "The Truth™"?

  born ins are in a unique position in that we never knew any other way of life.

  no birthdays, christmas and overly superstitious family just seemed normal.

  when my parents talked about their pre-jw life it seemed like they were talking about completely different people (actually, that's true, the cult had taken their real selves).. so i'd be interested in hearing how your parents were indoctrinated.. my dad.

  my first wife was a born in--in 1949. her mother was also a born in !---about 1920. so--thats 3 generations--so far.

  my parents converted in about 1957--i was 9. mom had given birth to a badly deformed baby girl a couple of years before. she got religion. dad was a lot more cautious--and studied for a few years. i was given that awful pink paradise book. dad and i got dipped together at a circuit assembly when i was 14. fast forward a few years.

  so--met my wife to be when i was 17--she sweet 16. married at 20--first baby girl at 23---so thats generation 4.

  fast forward the next 46 years. my little girl is hardly little any more--the last time i saw her. she has 4 girls of her own now--so they are generation 5.

  ive never met those 4--the oldest is in her early 20's.

  about time for generation 6 ?

  How many times can you be DF'd?

  there was one guy in our hall who got df'd 3 times, on the fourth time he never came back.

  i wonder if they told him not to come back?

  Is it alright for a Disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witness to Date?

  it is said that a dfed is handed over to satan and left alone in his or her gross unrepentant conduct.

  however, you'll agree with me that not all dfeds are living that way.

  the truth is that some have actually repented and stopped their bad conducts but have fallen victim to the legalistic and procedural expediences of the wbts which makes it very difficult for some to come back in the shortest period of time.

  hmmmm...yesterday my long life friend called my landline after many years of silence.

  now the shock has subsided, i am wondering if i can forgive and forget the fact she chose not to keep in touch throughout a time in my life which was very stressful.

  sadly, i gathered that she is still involved with jehovah’s witness faith.

  a cigar: i dont smoke cigarettes at all, but i do enjoy a good cigar from time to time.

  saturday morning i was up at 6:30. it was fun trying to share small bathroom with seven other guys, all trying to get ready in 20 minutes.

  i threw some cloths on and headed to first “morning worship.” gilbert said i could sit on his table since there was an extra space there.

  apostate is just a word used by the watchtower--its how the dub club may view you. means nothing in the real world.

  this poor girl was baptized at 9yo.

  she isnt old enough to buy alcohol, to vote, to decide her own medical treatment, to buy a pet, to travel alone... yet she was deemed old enough to dedicate her life to a religion that will cut her off from her family if she ever leaves.. here she is applauded for shunning her own sister who tried to keep in contact with her after waking up.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yzgnfda8ki.

  would you join a religion which says everyone who is not a member will be killed by god?.

  would you join a religion which you know that statistically if you stay in it long enough, there is a high chance that it will split your family apart?.

  would you join a religion which demands that you preach to your neighbours that they are soon going to die if they don’t believe your message?.

  most new members joining the cult are miserable wretches in appalling third world countries. who wouldnt find life on a paradise earth appealing ? almost as good as a passport out of wherever they are.

  those that join in the western world are usually a slice short of a full loaf.
